  • National Jamboree - Washington D.C.

    • Troop 22 will be visiting the 2005 National Jamboree near Washington D.C. Wednesday, July 27th thru Tuesday, August 1st 2005.

    • During this period, scouts and family members may visit and observe the Jamboree from 9 am until 5 pm.  Due to a meeting time conflict, the next meeting about the Jamboree will be Thursday, November 4th at 7:00 pm in the Troop room.

    • The itinerary is still in the works, so if you have a place you would like to visit in the D.C. area, come and share your idea with us at the next meeting.

  • Annual Winter Bushwhack

    • Troop will be leaving at 6 am December 18th and arrive at John Bryan State Park at 9 am.  We will then hike 10 miles around the Clifton Gorge.  A compass contest will be part of the hike.  After a day of hiking, we will end up at Camp Birch Boy Scout Camp where we will camp overnight, then travel to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base to break up the trip on the way home.

    • John Bryan is the most scenic state park in western Ohio.  The park contains a remarkable limestone gorge cut by the Little Miami River.  A portion of the gorge itself is designated as a national natural landmark.

    • We will also need parents at the half-way point to make and serve chili to the hikers.  It would also be nice to have some parents set up tents and start the evening meal if possible.

  • Contact Clayton McKnight for more information.

  • Camp Ransburg

    • Troop 22 scouts have done it again this year at Ransburg summer camp, bringing home an impressive 61 merit badges, all while each one earned a rank in the Firecrafter program.  Scoutmaster Joe expressed pride for his scouts, "Everyone did great.  It was a wonderful week.  We had a ball!"  In addition to earning so many merit badges, each scout gained one rank in Firecrafter, a program available at summer camp in the Crossroads of America Council.   Four scouts completed the requirements for the high rank of Firecrafter.  Each one had to "get their spark" (just ask them-they'll tell you what that means!) and start a fire from scratch.  They will complete the final requirement at the Firecrafter Grand Ritual this summer in order to earn the rank.    Congratulations to our scouts this year!   You all did a fantastic job!
